Wagamama Restaurants
Market Street | Oxford
Wagamama commissioned Ellis & Moore to convert a former pub nestled in the heart of the historic city of Oxford into a contemporary restaurant. Due to its location in the sensitive Central Conservation Area the practice worked closely with Oxford City Council to ensure the final building design would be appropriate for the historic location. The brick and stone dressings were cleaned, the original windows were repaired and repainted and new windows were added to allow more natural light to enter the building.
Westfield Shopping Centre | Shepherd’s Bush
Continuing Ellis & Moore’s relationship with the pan-Asian restaurnat chain, the newest Wagamama resturant opened at the £1.6bn Westfield Shopping Centre in Shepherd’s Bush, West London. The exterior of the noodle bar was clad in a seasoned cedar wood with the interior finished in a bright and fresh colour scheme.
High Street | Windsor
Located within the grand Harte & Garter hotel opposite Windsor Castle, the new Wagamama restuarant is located in the former wine cellar of the Grade II listed building. Due to its historically sensitive location, exterior signage was kept to a minimum and a colour scheme was chosen to blend with the 1890s building. A clever use of space allowed the kitchen and back room areas to be hidden away without impacting on the restaurant dining space.
