The redevelopment of Stanhill Court near Gatwick Airport is now well under way. The current works involve internal alterations to increase the room capacity within the existing building footprint and the conversion of the existing timber trussed loft space into 10 new bedrooms.
New steel beams supporting timber floors have been installed within existing double height spaces to provide new accommodation.
The new lift pit has been excavated to improve vertical circulation.
The existing old timber trusses will form the bedroom where possible. These require modifications with the insertion of new steelwork to provide corridors and increased headroom.
This phase of the project should finish in early 2019.
