Ellis + Moore is an award winning Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy, specialising in the design of building structures and the associated civil engineering infrastructure.

We currently have a vacancy for a civil engineer experienced in the design of below ground drainage and highways works associated with projects ranging from domestic conversions to new build developments with values in excess of £200 million.

We have been at the forefront of sustainable developments in the UK and are keen to maintain and enhance our capabilities in this field.

The successful candidate will be proficient in the use of AutoCad, Microdrainage and AutoDesk Civils 3D or similar modelling packages, and will be expected to contribute to the development and implementation of modern and efficient design methods, using the latest technology.

They will be required to undertake the design and detailing of drainage systems, external hardstanding, and estate roads. They will be responsible for the negotiation and completion of the technical aspects of all required section agreements for highways and drainage works, the design of sustainable urban drainage systems, compliance with current sustainability requirements including production of Sur1 reports, preparation of basic flood risk assessments and the supervision of reports and specialist design elements produced by outside consultants.

The candidate should have a minimum of 6 years UK based civil engineering design experience, be technically proficient, able to work with initiative and high level of independence, and have excellent communication skills. They will be expected to attend project meetings in relation to the civil engineering design and to provide written reports to clients and senior management.
